Overview

The two-story, 28,000 square foot Hubbard Radio Phoenix Headquarters is home to all five of the company’s Phoenix radio stations. Sound isolated studios inside the building are supported on steel framed floors, designed to minimize vibration, and supported on reinforced masonry bearing walls. The exposed concrete, open ceilings, and exposed steel structure celebrate the structural design with column-free space that allows daylight to flood the open office area. The lower level includes offices and conference space with a custom, musically inspired guitar string grand stair that climbs the two-story canyon that is the central feature of the lobby. An outdoor deck provides a performance promenade for visiting artists. The project’s design-build delivery played a major role in its success.
