Project Highlights

  • 10-story and 6-story office buildings with 7-level ramp
  • Long spans
  • Cast-in-place concrete

Overview

Phase 1 involved the design of a 10-story, 415,000 square foot office building, framed with cast-in-place concrete and laterally braced with cast-in-place concrete shear walls. Long-span perimeter beams were post-tensioned to limit deflections, and custom pan layouts were used to increase bay sizes and reduce the number of columns. A pedestrian link leads from the office building to a 7-level precast concrete parking ramp, which holds 1440 vehicles. Total construction cost of Phase 1 was $93,000,000.

Phase 2 was a 300,000 square foot expansion, adding a 6-story office building, 2-story commons building with auditorium, and 2-story training center to the campus, as well as an extension of parking ramp. The office building is cast-in-place wide-module pan and joists, constructed with flying table forms, long-span post-tensioned girders, and an architectural precast façade. The commons building uses composite steel framing with sloped raker beams, supported on yolked column supports in the auditorium. The exterior is clad with a combination of Pilkington structural glass and a tube steel curtainwall system supporting a granite veneer rainscreen. Phase 2 construction cost was $75,000,000.
