Overview

Meyer Borgman Johnson’s engineers collaborated with the project team to deliver cost-effective and timely structural solutions for this award winning office project. With a design and construction schedule of only 15 months, MBJ developed a Lean methodology for defining and driving the steel procurement schedule. In conjunction with our design team’s structural engineering services, a separate team of engineers performed steel detailing and steel connection design services.

The new technology and information center is a one-story building that features a partial mezzanine level and an open floor plan for 150 employees. The primary structural system is steel framing with concrete on metal deck floors and a metal deck roof. A large bank of windows runs along the east side of the building allowing an abundance of natural light into the open working space.
Engaged from the start in an integrated project delivery role, MBJ provided the following services: 1) engineer of record, 2) steel connection design, 3) cold-formed steel framing for exterior walls and soffits, 4) miscellaneous steel framing design, and 5) steel stair designs.
