Project Highlights
- Connection design for new $275 million performing arts center
- 3,800 tons of steel
Overview
Meyer Borgman Johnson provided steel connection design services for this award-winning performing arts center positioned near the famous 9/11 Memorial in New York City. The Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center offers 90,000 square feet of world-class dance, music, theater, film, opera, and community space on three levels. Fittingly named, the Play level (top), the Performer level (middle), and the Public level (bottom), the Play level includes multiple performance spaces that hold 499-, 250-, and 99-seats and the Public level includes restaurant/bar space. The entire project team met multiple project challenges including tight site constraints and connecting to below-grade transportation and utility infrastructure.
