Overview

Located in the “downtown” area of Walt Disney World, T-Rex is an archeologically themed restaurant featuring life-size animatronic dinosaurs, waterfalls, and a volcano. Because the building is partially sited over a canal, driven precast pile caps were used in wet areas and conventional spread footings in dry areas. Likewise, ground level floors are slab-on-grade in dry areas and precast concrete plank on inverted tee girders in the canal areas. Other structural materials are composite steel floor deck on composite steel beams and structural steel columns. Lateral bracing consists of masonry and precast shear walls.
