One Discovery Square is an innovative space that unites Mayo Clinic, The University of Minnesota Rochester and biosciences startups together into one collaborative facility. The originating building in Destination Medical Center’s 16-block Discovery Square District, the facility provides laboratories, flexible research spaces, conference rooms, and team spaces in a new vibrant urban life science setting. This research, academic, and office building brings together doctors, researchers, faculty, students, and private businesses with a shared passion of healthcare discovery and is one of the first projects to receive Destination Medical Center (DMC) funding from the State of Minnesota.

OUR SOLUTIONS

The three-story, 90,000-square-foot building’s primary structural system is post-tensioned cast-in-place concrete supported by a drilled pier foundation. Structural design and materials address project requirements for vibration control, flexibility, and high performance.
