The Exchange at 100 Federal Street, designed as a public gathering and event space in the heart of Boston’s Financial District, is a stunning 10,000-square-foot structural steel and glass pavilion, serving as a year-round “winter garden” and retail space. The addition sits adjacent to the 100 Federal Street building and attracts professionals, locals and visitors as a contemporary landmark structure. OUR SOLUTIONS

MBJ provided connection and erection design services for this award-winning public gathering space. The majority of the structure and its connections were platework. 400 tons of steel including slender plate members were utilized in the structure. Our team worked closely with the steel fabricator when designing the connections to ensure cost effective fabrication and detailing.
